About Us

Scam Alert Canada helps Canadians recognize, avoid, and respond to scams. We publish plain-language alerts about frauds circulating in Canada, explain the warning signs, and tell you exactly what to do and who to contact if you’ve been targeted.

Why we started

Scams in Canada are growing more convincing every year: fake CRA calls, Interac e-transfer tricks, rental listings that don’t exist, and deepfake investment ads featuring familiar faces. Official warnings exist, but they’re spread across dozens of agencies and are often hard to find when you need them. We bring that information together in one place and make it practical.

What we publish

  • Scam alerts: current schemes reported in Canada, with examples of the messages, calls, or websites involved.
  • Protection guides: how common scams work and how to spot them before you lose money.
  • Recovery help: step-by-step guidance on what to do after being scammed, including how to report it.

Who we are

Scam Alert Canada is written and maintained by the Scam Alert Team, a small editorial team with a background in IT and cybersecurity. We are based in Edmonton, Alberta. The site is operated by [OPERATOR NAME].

We are an independent publication. We are not affiliated with the Government of Canada, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, any police service, or any bank.

Our standards

Every alert is checked against official or reputable sources before publication. Read our Editorial Policy and How We Verify Alerts to learn more.
